0-3yrs Tunes for Tots Curriculum
Led by professional musicians, each class is developed week-by-week via our teaching subjects, specifically curated for each age group. Our teaching subjects include songs with lyrics, scarves, shakers and percussion to name a few. Each age group also enjoys story-time to enhance the musical experience through sound, imagery, structure and imagination. Overall, growing your child’s interest in music and how it makes them feel is the aim of every class.

Who are Tunes for Tots classes for?
-
Listening Llamas & Crawling Crabs
Listening Llamas is our class series for babies 0-12 months. Each session will be filled with gentle songs and fascinating sounds sung and played live by our Tunes for Tots musicians. Each song is accompanied by interactive and participatory activities for parents/carers to elevate the experience for themselves and their baby.
-
Singing Sparrows
Singing Sparrows is our class series for toddlers 1-2 years old. The weekly session will include familiar and brand new songs to allow repetition and development amongst exposure to new words, sounds and movements. This is just the beginning of your child’s independence and we love to celebrate it through moving our hands and feet to the beat! Small hand held percussion instruments, scarves and storytime through song and imagery are amongst our ‘teaching subjects’ that allow music to be felt, heard and seen each week.
-
Drumming Ducks
Drumming Ducks is our class series for toddlers 2-3 years. The weekly session develops the independence of your toddler even further through the introduction of independent activities that allow decisions to be made in the music room! Celebrating the art that is music, your toddler will have the opportunity to be in charge of their instrument, prop and own movement to encourage sensitivity towards the music they hear and how it makes them feel. Accompanied by music developed from Singing Sparrows and brand new songs, each learning subject in Drumming Ducks aims to encourage self expression, social skills and creating music together!
Our Tunes for Tots curriculum is also a wonderful addition to a nursery or school’s learning and engagement offering. Find out more here.

4-5yrs Music Parade Curriculum
The Yamaha Music Parade course follows a similar ethos and methodology as our 0-3yrs lesson subjects with the exciting addition of learning how to play the keyboard!
If your school or nursery is lucky enough to have us delivering our 0-3yrs classes, moving on to Music Parade at 4-5yrs old is a wonderful transition. Our trained Yamaha teachers will guide your students from their first lesson all the way to the end of the 2 year course where students are encouraged to play hands together and have plenty of school concerts under their belt!
By the end of the 2 year course, if a family is keen to nurture and continue keyboard lessons, our students will be able to join a group class at their local Yamaha Music School and start where they left off from Music Parade.

Memory Singing by Solfege

Keyboard Games
Our young learners will be introduced to the keyboard in a fun and engaging way alongside their classmates. Children will be taught the foundational keyboard skills such as hand positioning, note recognition, and basic rhythm. Students will learn to play simple melodies and left hand harmonies with exciting orchestral arrangements via backing tracks. Through interactive lessons, children not only develop motor coordination but also enhance concentration and creativity.

Rhythm Step & Writing
Our rhythm step songs are enjoyed with actions, combining music, movement, and language, creating a multi-sensory learning experience that supports children's development.
Reading and writing is introduced through the Music Parade workbooks. These can also be completed during the week with the class teacher, so your lessons can continue throughout the week!
